Description

The EVS Floor Care Trainer is responsible for training, coaching, and supporting EVS team members in proper floor care, window cleaning, and high dusting techniques. This role ensures staff are competent in the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and elevated access equipment, including scissor lifts, while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and appearance throughout the facility.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Train EVS staff on carpet shampooing, extraction, and stain removal techniques.
  • Train staff on hard floor care including stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing.
  • Train staff on window cleaning techniques for interior and approved exterior surfaces.
  • Train staff on high dusting of vents, fixtures, ledges, ceilings, and other elevated areas.
  • Demonstrate proper operation, care and storage of floor care equipment.
  • Educate staff on correct chemical usage, dilution, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct hands-on demonstrations and refresher training as needed.
  • Monitor performance and provide coaching to ensure consistent quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain training records and document staff competencies.
  • collaborate with EVS Leads to identify training needs and improvement opportunities.
S.I.G.E. Tribal State Compact & Accounting & Internal Control
Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for Internal Control and Compact compliance regarding Casino Operations and ensure compliance with regulations of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in EVS floor care required.
  • Strong knowledge of carpet care, hard floor maintenance, window cleaning and high dusting.
  • Experience in operating floor care equipment. 
  • Knowledge of scissor lift operations, fall protection, and PPE requirements.
  • Strong communication, training, and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead by example.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior training or leadership experience in EVS
  • Scissor lift certification.

Education And/Or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Associate degree OR equivalent from two-year College or technical school, preferred 
  • OR three years (external) related experience and/or training OR one year department experience and/or training
  •  OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience should be specific to the Hospitality Industry. 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Class II Gaming License issued from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission 
  • Requires a Valid Washington State Driver License and must be insurable on the Tribe’s insurance.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to push and pull floor care equipment.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights using a scissor lift.

  • Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently is required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
