Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will provide HR support by providing day to day administration of HR policies to the employees of the Cabazon Band of Cahuilla Indians and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include

• The Generalist will perform duties in most or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, compliance and with strong emphasis on benefit administration, and recruitment.  
• Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
• Complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
• Assists in managing employee relations by investigating, resolving, and communicating in regards to employee questions, issues, or concerns. Resolves and handles employee relations in a positive manner.
• Assists with Benefits administration to include benefit programs such as health insurance, disability, workers compensation, retirement, safety, LOA’s New Hire Orientation, Open Enrollment and other plans.
• Maintains knowledge of recruitment for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, assists with new hire orientation.
• Assists in leading, developing and administering appropriate training opportunities that assist employees to further their career and organizational development.
• Attends weekly meetings as requested, one on one meetings with managers/employees.

Supervisory Responsibilities       

This position does have supervisory responsibilities.

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED/equivalent.
• Three to five years Human Resources experience as an HR Generalist, preferably in the Hospitality or Casino Industries.
• Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration.
• Must be knowledgeable in Benefits, Employee Relations, Laws, Training and Recruitment.
• Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills.
• Strong conflict management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Associate degree in human resources or related field, bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required.
• SHRM-CP a plus.
• Must be bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Tribal and Casino experience preferred.
