Summary

The SIT LEADership Team Member participates in a structured leadership development program designed to prepare Squaxin Island Tribal Members for future leadership opportunities through cross-functional training, mentorship, operational exposure, accountability and professional development.

The two-year program establishes a consistent, performance-based leadership development model to increase leadership readiness. This position is a developmental training role.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Participate in all assigned departmental rotations
  • Complete assigned projects and training objectives 
  • Attend all required meetings, mentorship sessions, and evaluations
  • Maintain strong attendance and professional conduct
  • Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and leadership behaviors
  • Learn and apply operational, financial, and leadership concepts
  • Support departmental teams during rotations 
Program Requirements
  • Completion of all assigned rotations
  • Participation in mentorship program
  • Completion of required training and/or academic coursework
  • Monthly performance evaluations
S.I.G.E. Tribal State Compact & Accounting & Internal Control
Duties And Responsibilities

Responsible for Internal Control and Compact compliance regarding Casino Operations and ensure compliance with regulations of the Tribal Gaming Commission.

Requirements

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     

Education And/Or Experience
  • Enrolled Squaxin Island Tribal Member
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality required
  • Demonstrated interest in leadership development
  • Letter of recommendation referencing good attendance and performance history (if existing SIGE team member, letter from current supervisor required.)
Important Conditions
  • This is not a permanent management position
  • Advancement is based on performance and completion of program requirements
  • Participants may be removed from the program for performance or attendance issues
  • Class III Gaming License issued from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission
  • To accommodate varying schedules and working hours, the participant may not hold any other employment while enrolled in the program.

Work Environment

The team member is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
