Position Summary |

Provides oversight of the daily management of the medical clinic operation. Develops and directs operational activities for the delivery of patient care in the medical clinic. Manages medical inventory; prepares and maintains annual medical clinic budget. Performs clinical duties as triage nurse, Clinic Nurse, Public Health Nurse and/or phlebotomist in clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Demonstrates knowledge of safe and appropriate patient care.
- Performs patient care within the scope of professional preparation and licensure and under the guidance of Sandia Pueblo nursing policies and procedures.
- Provides oversight of the daily management of the medical clinic operation in coordination with other clinic staff members.
- Demonstrates knowledge of audit standards and ensures Pueblo of Sandia Health Center’s (PSHC’s) compliance with those standards.
- Reviews nursing policies & procedures as needed for guidance. Develops, writes and implements policies as needed.
- Manages patient flow and care concerns of primary care clinic as well as specialty clinics and services.
- If not in standing orders, seeks guidance & direction from the attending physician as needed in the performance of day-to-day patient care.
- Documents nursing care activities in accordance with Sandia Pueblo guidelines.
- Performs patient call backs for scheduling follow-up appointments, inform patients (in person or by phone) of abnormal lab or test results as requested by medical providers. Provides follow-up education or information.
- Prepares and maintains tribal budget for the medical clinic. Manages inventory to ensure adequate medical supplies while maintaining budgetary goals.
- Under GPRA, ensures and reports on performance standards to the Medical Director and management team. Takes actions where needed to collect appropriate data.
- Provides oversight, direction & management to clinic nurses as needed. Evaluates annually.
- Utilizes good listening and communication skills to understand and respect patient concerns and wishes during the care planning process.
- Maintains clear communication with the medical team members, other departments, Indian Health Service and outside providers as needed.
- May serve as nurse case manager for limited patients if asked by Medical Director to do so.
- Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

- Current New Mexico RN Licensure
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications
- The following immunizations and titers are required prior to employment start date:
- Hepatitis B series or immune by titer
- Tdap
- MMR or immune by titer
- Annual TB test
- Annual Flu vaccination (seasonal)
- COVID booster (optional but encouraged)
- Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation and character investigation in compliance with PL 101.630.
- Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
