Position Summary:

Responsible for the availability, safety, confidentiality and integrity of Isleta Resort and Casino’s Information Technology assets. Responsible for recommending and implementing information security policies and procedures. Takes care of the day-to-day IT security operations, conducts threat and risk analysis and provides essential suggestions for threat response. Serves as a primary advisor on information security issues.

  • Provides guidance, direction, and oversight while participating in the planning of the cybersecurity systems and casino applications.
  • Performs oversight of the development, implementation, and evaluation of the overall information security program.
  • Proactively monitors Isleta Resort and Casino’s network and critical systems and databases for intrusions.
  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing data to assist in eliminating risk and performances issues.
  • Advises on Risk Management framework assessment and any security issues.
  • Researches and recommends new technologies for Isleta Resort and Casino.
  • Designs and develops security features for system architectures.
  • Conducts vulnerability tests and identifies and addresses any weaknesses.
  • Defines security requirements for computer systems and suggest various solutions to implement.
  • Works with the Network and Systems Administrators to identify vulnerabilities and needed patches. Assists both teams in ensuring network and systems are patched and compliant.
  • Installs, manages, and configures security related systems such as anti-virus, malware, firewall IDS with both hardware and software solutions.
  • Develops the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan which pertains to cyber security threats.
  • Designs security training materials and organizes training sessions for Isleta Resort and Casino Team Members.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of IT Security concepts, principles, and practices; computer/server operations and user environments.
  • Must possess thorough knowledge of NIGC MICS, POIGRA Regulations, departmental, and organizational policy and procedures.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of vulnerabilities management and common security applications.
  • Must possess strong computer, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as spelling, numbers, and grammar.
  • Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
  • Ability to apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills while working independently; managing projects; installing, configuring, upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring system performance and network resources; and providing guidance to team members.
  • Ability to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be trained in multiple system programs.
  • Ability to create clear and thorough reports and organize and maintain files.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, IT, or related field, preferred.
  • Certified in at least one of the following within a specified period of time after hire: System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or equivalent security certification.
  • Four (4) years’ working knowledge with network and infrastructure systems.
  • Four (4) years’ working experience in IT Security.

Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.

Accountability and Supervision:

Manages the IT Security Analyst and IT Security Engineer positions. Initiates and administers supervisory employment actions and responsibilities in accordance with the Isleta Resort and Casino’s policies, SOPs, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training team members, along with planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining of employees; performance reviews, promoting, demoting, and reassigning employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

  • Must acquire and maintain a Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Pass pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide and IT security and technical educational and certification requirements.
  • Flexible work schedule, willingness to work any days/hours as needed.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in a high-paced office setting, with some work involved within the casino floor or outside of the office. May occasionally require access to secure server rooms or IT related areas. Also, may occasionally have interactions with hostile and/or angry guests.
