Position Summary:

Responsible for preforming routine maintenance and general grooming on the Isleta Golf Club while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement

All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   • Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying equipment.
  • Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state, and federal regulations, and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical handlers and /or helpers.
  • Tracks chemical inventory.
  • Operates power mower to trim the Isleta Golf Club’s greens, aprons, and fairways.
  • Aerates, spreads fertilizers and lays sod.
  • Changes pins and tee markers and maintains traps, plants, and shrubs.
  • Assists in constructing new greens and fairways by way of grading and preparing turf.
  • Changes cups and empties trash bins on a daily basis.
  • Rakes bunkers and repairs divots as needed.
  • Cleans and ensures all ball washers are in working order.
  • Assists with scheduled maintenance projects: top dressing, fertilizing, and over seeding.
  • Assists with general construction projects as needed.
  • Maintains all facility grounds, trees, and shrubbery.
  • Maintains and ensures all hand tools, power tools, and grounds keeping equipment are in good operating condition and securely stored.
  • Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement.
  • Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent, preferred.
  • One (1) year maintenance and grounds keeping experience, required.

Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

  • Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
  • Possession of valid driver’s license.
  • Complete knowledge of chemical application equipment.
  • Current State certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
  • Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.

  • Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.
  • Must be able to take direction and feedback well.
  • Must be able to operate and lift moderately heavy supplies, materials, and/or equipment.
  • Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.
  • Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.
  • Must possess strong critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be knowable of and be able to perform routine tasks related to trimming fairways and greens.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of the game of golf.
  • Must be knowledge of safe operations of tools, power tools, and grounds keeping equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able lift, move, and place 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to bend, push, pull, and twist regularly.
  • Must be able to work in small confined areas.

Working Conditions:

Work is generally performed in an outside golf course setting with exposure to extreme weather conditions such as high levels of heat, cold, winds, rain, hail, and snow. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.
