Compensation: Starting at $50,000 per year

REPORTING TO:                  Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

CLASSIFICATION:               Management, Exempt, Regular, Full Time

SECURITY CLEARANCE:   CLASS III

INTRODUCTION

Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Cage Manager accomplishes the objectives of the Cage operations by planning, organizing and managing all functions required to safeguard the assets of the casino and ensures that monetary transactions are executed in an accurate, professional and courteous manner. Ensures all cage functions operate in accordance with established policies, procedures and gaming regulations. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the development of a strategic plan and objectives for the casino cage operations.

Ensures cage operations are executed according to gaming regulations and established policies and procedures.

Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Tribal regulations.

Manages Cage department staffing, performance evaluations, and employee development.

Maintains excellent customer and employee-to-employee relations.

Improves staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, training and recommending disciplinary action for employees; planning, delegating, monitoring, and evaluating job tasks and results in a timely manner.

Achieves financial objectives by establishing and monitoring budgets.

Prepares written responses to all audit findings and queries.

Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

Reports and documents any observed or known safety hazard, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures to management immediately.

Performs other job-related duties as directed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of Cage operations.

Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws, Title 31and other IRS regulations.

Knowledge of fraud prevention techniques.

Ability to develop and implement policies, and procedures.

Ability to supervise, train and evaluate staff.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to make solid decisions and exercise independent judgment.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information pertinent to the nature of the work.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS

The Cage Manager works under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, who provides general instructions.  Work is assigned in terms of functional objectives.  The CFO will provide guidance with unusual situations that do not have clear precedents.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Associates degree with five (5) years Cage experience and two (2) years Cage Manager experience. PREFERRED

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance and two (2) years Cage Manager experience. PREFERRED

MS Office software experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.). REQUIRED

Must submit to and clear an Alcohol/Drug Screen. REQUIRED

Must be at least 21 years of age. REQUIRED

Must be Licensable by the Klamath Tribes Gaming Regulatory Commission. REQUIRED

Tribal Preference will apply.
