The Hotel Housekeeping Shift Manager makes guests feel welcome and important by ensuring that guestrooms and common areas are clean, comfortable, well maintained and serviced according to company and AAA specifications.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Project a positive image
  • Greet all guests in corridors
  • Actively coaches, mentors and develops team members (including HHK supervisors); Generates daily assignments for team members
  • Performs property and guestroom inspections, including guest rooms placed into inspected status by HHK supervisors, documenting as required
  • Ensures AAA four diamond standards are being met consistently
  • Checks and reports room statuses as needed
  • Inventories and orders departmental supplies; Administers hotel lost-and-found
  • Creates work schedules and conduct timekeeping
  • Creates written room inspections on team members as well as HHK supervisors in order to maintain the hotels four diamond rating
  • Acts as “Manager on duty” in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper 
  • Acts as “Manager on duty” representing the hotel to resolve guest related issues
  • Keeps staff informed of all pertinent information
  • Liaise with other departments as operational issues arise
  • Ensures that an adequate number of vacant/clean/inspected rooms are available throughout the day
  • Generates shift reports recording key hotel statistics and incidents
  • Limits the number of accidents and injuries by promoting job safety
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements (Please Ensure You Meet The Listed Requirements Prior To Applying)

  • High School diploma or GED– required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field AND two (2) years Supervisory experience– required
    • OR Four (4) years’ experience in a Management position– required
    • OR Three (3) years’ experience in a Supervisory position with Wind Creek Hospitality– required
  • Two (2) years of experience in a Hotel or Resort– required
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills required (skills test may be administered)
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment – phones, computers, etc.
  • Must be in good physical condition and able to pass a physical fitness test
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must have a non-gaming badge (or the ability to obtain and maintain a badge) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position

Base Pay

  • Pay range - $63,700.00 - $78,700.00 (The base pay will depend on factors such as experience level and skillset.)
  • Voluntary full-time benefit offerings include the following - group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as access to a flexible spending account (FSA) option.
