The opportunity

Delaware North is hiring an Associate Category Manager to join our procurement team at our Global Headquarters in Buffalo, New York. As an Associate Category Manager, you will be managing the procurement process, developing and managing assigned spend categories by collaborating with business stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, developing category strategies, leveraging scale and building strategic supplier relationships.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $62,354 – $76,800 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. What will you do?

  • Work with category stakeholders and strategic sourcing team to develop programs that leverage spend, consolidate suppliers, and rationalize SKUs, delivering savings and increased value to Delaware North
  • Negotiate terms and conditions that consistent with company goals, standards, and ethics, while delivering the best overall value to the operating locations, liaising between stakeholders and suppliers to ensure policies, procedures, and contract terms compliance
  • Adhere to ethical procurement practices, including compliance with corporate and departmental policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations
  • Develop, evaluate, and prioritize ideas to grow the business through partnerships and cooperative deals that drive revenue and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide detailed analysis of category performance including growth objectives, savings opportunities, and trends, report on track performance, and identify the impact of variables on category performance against established metrics

More about you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a procurement, specifically in IT and/or Telecom experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, inventory analysis, and ability to communicate and interact effectively with managers and other
  • Strong negotiation skills with experience negotiating commercial terms and service level agreements.
  • Excellent communication skills including presentation and relationship management skills
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
