JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and implementing marketing strategies and activities for the Casino and Hotel. Responsible for the Marketing, Players Club, Promotions, Advertising, Media Buying, Graphic Arts and Player Development
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assists with the development and implementation of short and long strategic marketing plans involving events, tournaments, promotions, and entertainment and reinvestment strategies.
- Helps prepare the annual marketing plan and budget that will help maintain and grow a strong local base of customers along with cultivating outer market and new business aligned with the business objectives.
- Prepares contracts with various vendors including entertainers, suppliers, charter companies, transportation, advertising services or public relations agencies or group or convention business.
- Responsible for focusing on identifying emerging trends and issues. Identify and prioritize opportunities as they relate to marketing activities.
- Develops, recommends and implements new special events & promotions while improving on existing activities.
- Directs database and direct response marketing including monitoring print production, mailing distribution, and redemption rates and costs.
- Involved in the recommendation process for charitable contributions, sponsorships, vendor selection and property initiatives.
- Responsible for the analysis and evaluation of direct marketing programs and developing new strategies as needed.
- Helps direct reports achieve outlined goals and plans of action objectives by periodically meeting with and assisting staff with tasks and needs associated with the goals and objectives.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned by General Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field and 8-10 years’ experience in management and administration of multiple marketing functions within a casino/hotel operation. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling twelve (12) years, including three (3) years as the Director level, may substitute for required education and experience. Casino experience required.
- Ability to work as directed by General Manager, which may result in being scheduled anytime during a 24 hour period, 365 days a year.
- Strong business experience in reviewing and developing marketing plans, marketing materials and collateral.
- Experience analyzing and making recommendations on promotions.
- Must have considerable experience in developing successful casino marketing, entertainment and player development programs.
- Basic computer skills, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Work, Excel), Adobe Photoshop and Firework experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the gaming, hotel and/or entertainment industry.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, management, and guests.
- Must have a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment.
- Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels, secondary smoke and blinking lights.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
- Ability to verbally communicate using appropriate English standards of language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs.
LICENSING
Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation law.

- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50lbs in emergency situations.
- Ability to function in a smoking environment.
- Employee smoking is restricted to outside location and during break times.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise levels in the work environment are constant.
- Ascend/descend flights of stairs to access office and break areas throughout work day.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entirety of shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
- Efficiently function in an environment with blinking/blinding lights.
