Position Summary

Serves beverages to patrons in dining and bar establishment.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Takes beverage order and relays it to bartender (order taken within 3 minutes).
  2. Offers customer another round within 3 minutes of finishing drink when guest is showing no visible signs of intoxication.
  3. Participation in Daily Stand Up Meetings to ensure property communications are understood.
  4. Timely completion of computer assisted training as required.
  5. Collects order from bartender, adds appropriate garnish, places on tray, and serves to guests with cocktail napkins.
  6. Empowered to address feedback of guests and informs supervisor as necessary
  7. Maintain knowledge of all in-house services as well as local information and be able to assist guests when solicited.
  8. Responsible for maintenance of tables regarding the ongoing removal of empty glassware during service and the complete clearing of tables after guests have departed
  9. Suggestively upsells guests at every interaction
  10. Utilizes guests names when known at the time that the tendered bill is presented.
  11. Adheres to the property standards on appearance at all times.
  12. Responsible for accurately tendering and presenting check to guests
  13. Completion of all opening and closing side work as assigned per each shift. 
  14. Maintains possession of a valid alcohol certificate in conjunction with a valid form of identification at all times while serving alcohol. 
  15. Additional duties as assigned by Management.

  1. Qualified candidate must have excellent customer service, sales and food/beverage service skills.
  2. Knowledgeable of brand selections, prices, and garnishes.
  3. Knowledgeable of basic sanitation.
  4. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  5. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

  1. One (1) year serving experience in an establishment that serves beer, wine, and spirits.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Preferre

d:

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License within 30 days of hire date.
  3. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee frequently is required to walk, climb, or balance, and talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  1. Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Outside work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  2. Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  3. Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  4. Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
  5. Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  6. Specific required movements include the following:
    1. Trunk- bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry.
    2. Arms – reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate.
    3. Legs – lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate.
    4. Hands – Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity.
