Position Summary

Under general supervision of the Facilities Manager, oversees the maintenance operation activities of the Facilities department staff.  Responsible to track material & labor costs for all work performed. Responsible to ensure safe work practices and company safety policies are followed. Responsible for equipment and tools necessary to perform such work. Responsible to manage workload and set staff priorities. Supervisor required to work with staff when necessary.

Supervised by the Facilities Manager.  Supervises personnel as assigned.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Supervises daily operations of the facilities maintenance staff.
  2. Supervises EAM Asset Management computerized work order system; directs staff in work priority and resolves technical problems as required.
  3. Oversees satisfactory completion of work orders for accuracy, efficiency, and quality control.
  4. Supervises planning and layout of work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions.
  5. Responsible for ensuring work performed complies with Building Code, OSHA, EPA, and /or all applicable laws and regulations governing the Pueblo of Sandia.
  6. Responsible for department safety program and coordinates training needs for staff on assigned shift.
  7. Oversees employee evaluations, corrective actions, journals, and awards.
  8. Oversees Kronos timekeeping responsibilities for shift assigned.
  9. Assists Facilities Manager in annual budget preparations and daily budget oversite.
  10. Coordinates outside vendors and contractors’ activities onsite.
  11. Performs additional duties as necessary.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

  1. The Facilities Electrical Systems Supervisor position will be responsible for the following Trade:

Licensed NM EE98J Journeyman Electrician with the additional responsibility of ensuring Electrical Distribution Systems, Life Safety Fire Alarm systems, Lightning Protection systems, and Electrical equipment & Controls are functional and maintained in an optimal condition.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  1. Knowledge of Supervising Facilities Operation’s including experience in a supervisory role in one of the following trades Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, or Structural Maintenance.
  2. Knowledge of Construction & Maintenance industry standards for a large scale commercial property.
  3. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Building Codes applicable to the Pueblo of Sandia.
  4. Ability to Interview, selects, and trains Facilities maintenance staff.
  5. Ability to coordinate safety program, coordinate training needs, prepare staff evaluations, and administer employee recognition and corrective action programs.
  6. Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and direct work of subordinate Facilities staff.
  7. Ability to develop, implements, and oversee department preventative maintenance, work order, and emergency work order programs.
  8. Ability to work effectively with vendors and employees in all departments.
  9. Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Time keeping, Personnel Records, and Budget software.

Minimum Qualifications, Education And Experience

Required

  1. High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  2. 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  3. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  4. Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.

Licensing Status

  1. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  2. Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
