Compensation: $21.40 to $25.68 per hour

SUMMARY:  A Slot Technician is responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all slot machines and gaming devices along with promoting guest service and overseeing the overall slot operation.

Starting Salary:  $21.40 per hour and $25.68 per hour with 5 Years of Experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Responsible for insuring that all slot machines are up and running during the course of your shift.
  • Assists the Slot Attendant with problems on slot machines that go beyond the scope of their ability to take care of.
  • Assist the Slot Attendant in player disputes dealing with possible slot machine malfunctions.  Make recommendations in private to the Slot Attendant involving player disputes.
  • Fills out any documentation including statements, that may be required by Royal River Casino & Hotel Management, Tribal, State and/or Federal agencies.  Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of any and all documentation required.  Must respond to any Audit requests in the allotted time.
  • Documents incidents involving slot machine malfunctions and seal breaking.  Follows up to insure the Slot Director is advised on any incidents that may occur on his/her shift.
  • Communicates with the Slot Supervisor and Slot Director in matters that pertain to and/or issues that could affect the overall slot operation.
  • Monitors slot part usage and advises the Slot Director when there is a shortage of repair parts.  Evaluate test and repair slot machine electronics as necessary.
  • Carries out assigned projects and work assignments as laid out by the Slot Director.  Insures work assignments are completed in a professional and timely fashion.
  • Must be willing to go to any training as designated by management. Attends all workshops as scheduled for the Slot Department. Must be willing and have the ability to learn the technical aspects of the job.
  • Monitors the overall performance of the slot machines and all other designated equipment to ensure all is operating at maximum performance.  Takes immediate action to correct any problems that may occur.
  • Interacts with employees and other departments in a courteous professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one (1) year gaming machine experience or background required.
  • Associate’s degree in Electronics or Business Administration and / or experience working with electronic equipment preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers and guest.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Must be able to obtain an FSST Support License

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and talk or hear.  The employee is required to stand, walk, kneel , bend or lay on the ground to reach components or parts and reach with hands and arms possibly for 10-15 mins at a time during installation or moving or removal of games (slot machines) or parts.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds daily.  The employee must be able to lift and move a slot machine with a utility cart.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, electronics, electricity understand how to operate some power tools and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals  and second-hand smoke.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
