The opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Dispatcher to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for safety training and providing company GuestPath Universal Service Standards coaching to guide tour escort compliance. In addition, the Dispatcher role assumes responsibility for the control and direction of the movement of bus tour patrons and the departure of tour buses in the loading and unloading areas.

$22.00 – $27.00 / hour

What will you do?

  • Manage safety training programs and provide GuestPath “Universal Service Standards” coaching to ensure compliance among Tour Escorts.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of bus tour operations, including patron movement, loading, unloading, routing, and equipment utilization in collaboration with NASA Public Affairs and Tour Destination Site Managers.
  • Supervise the dispatching of Tour Escorts and coordinate work assignments, ensuring adequate staffing and resource allocation based on visitor volume. 
  • Communicate road restrictions and routing availability by liaising with government subcontract agencies and updating relevant departments to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Prepare and maintain daily activity reports, oversee public address announcements for weather-related updates, and support other Tour Operations areas, including Group Agents, Ticket Agents, and Site Managers. 
  • Drive a company vehicle as needed. 

More about you

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • Valid Driver’s License and transportation to and from work. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of transportation operations with experience in supervision of transportation systems preferred. 
  • Must be computer literate in windows-based programs. 
  • Must be self-directed and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Must anticipate and respond to the changing needs of the business. 

Physical requirements

  • Able to sit in the Dispatch console the entire shift.
  • Must be able to multi task, talk on a two way radio, answer phones and talk to Escorts.
