About the Opportunity

As the Human Resources Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day HR operations at Mark Twain Casino while serving as a trusted partner to property leadership and employees. You'll play an important role in recruiting and retaining talent, strengthening employee engagement, supporting leadership development, and ensuring a positive and compliant workplace. This hands-on leadership position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, coaching others, solving problems, and making a difference.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with property leaders on workforce planning, recruitment, employee retention, performance management, and succession planning.
• Provide guidance to employees and managers on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and employee performance.
• Oversee talent acquisition, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding to attract and retain qualified team members.
• Coordinate employee training and learning opportunities that help employees grow and succeed.
• Lead employee recognition, engagement, and morale-building initiatives that create a positive and rewarding work environment.
• Ensure HR practices comply with employment laws, gaming regulations, company policies, and workplace safety requirements.
• Address employee concerns through fair, thorough, objective, and confidential investigations.
• Maintain accurate employee records, reporting, HR systems, and administrative processes, including unemployment claims and hearings.
• Participate in community events and activities that strengthen Mark Twain Casino's connection with the surrounding community.

What We're Looking For: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required; HR degree preferred.
• Previous experience in Human Resources and supervision.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification highly desired.
• Experience in the casino, hospitality, or service industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of employment laws, employee relations, workplace investigations, and HR best practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and sound judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HR systems, and general computer applications.
• Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence, and to communicate effectively with employees and leadership.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Missouri Gaming Commission license.
