Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Compensation: $72,800

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a key management position responsible for the supervision and direction of financial support operations of Seneca Gaming and Entertainment and not limited to the following areas: General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Capital (Fixed) Assets, Financial Reporting, Treasury Management, Related Financial Systems, Financial Compliance Requirements (Tax, Seneca Gaming Authority, National Indian Gaming Commission, etc.), External Audit. The Chief Financial Officer assumes responsibility for ensuring that Financial Operations operates within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming and Entertainment policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Policies, Internal Control Standards, NIGA, MICS, TICS, SICS and regulations and objectives. The Chief Financial Officer will work with the C.E.O. and/or General Manager.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts and accruals to ensure expenses are accounted for in the appropriate periods. Ensure proper monthly financial procedures are complete.
  2. Supervise, preform, review and direct the monthly, quarterly and annual financial close and reporting process to ensure timeliness of the close process in accordance with an established financial close schedule
  3. Supervise and assist with budget preparation and fiscal year end audit.
  4. Supervise, review, and direct SGE Accounts Payable operations and related business systems and/or third-party service providers. Ensure fixed assets are logged and tagged before given to departments. Review journal entries of Game Accruals and Video Gaming Spreadsheets.
  5. Supervise and ensure timely submission of paperwork from departments at all locations of the daily session's sales and payouts of Bingo, video gaming, concessions, and smoke shop/retail for responsible finance designee to reconcile. Review of the financial assistant manager preparation of the daily session's settlement.
  6. Supervise and review journal entries provided by financial assistant manager of Depreciation, Payroll, Credit Card Receivables, ATM Receivables, Interest Income/Expense, month end inventory adjustments and any other entries as needed.
  7. Supervise each location's Finance Department and help the Financial Assistant Manager(s) with any questions or concerns that may arise and fill in as the Vault Cashier when management personnel are unavailable.
  8. Supervise and review weekly funds transfer to Seneca Nation.
  9. Build relationships with department managers at all properties and hold monthly meetings regularly to review financial results, policies, and procedures.
  10. Communicate regularly with the Finance Department with direct reports regarding operational, business, policy and staffing issues.
  11. Maintain all SGE Policies owned by the department and their associated processes.
  12. Involvement and review of all contracts and maintaining a schedule of renewal dates.
  13. Prepare or review all income, sales and use taxes, as required.
  14. Participate in monthly financial reviews for all properties.
  15. Build relationships with SNI finance and attend meetings, as needed, to ensure open communication of results and distributions.
  16. Prepare and submit NIGA fee's subsequent fiscal year audit.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:
  1. Five (5) years’ progressive management experience in accounting, finance or related field, preferably in the casino gaming industry.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  3. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Accounting, Procurement and Financial Reporting systems.
  4. Multi-property and/or regional management experience preferred.
  5. Proven leadership qualities, interpersonal skills and dedicated commitment to excellence.
  6. Must be at least 21 years of age.
