Duties

Leads, trains, evaluates and participates with a team of technicians to operate and maintain electronic gaming machines for route based, coin-free gaming operations (cash collections and cash-dispenser fills also performed). Utilizes reports and data to administer an efficient and effective preventive maintenance routine. Tracks recurring problems, and oversees cash and card dispenser balances. Briefs technicians daily on pending technical issues and problems. Supports and ensures the integrity of applicable internal control systems. Works with business partners and customers in a cooperative manner, and provides limited technical training to location personnel. Schedules and executes machine and location installations, machine moves and functionality. Briefs Field Office Manager daily, acts as Field Officer Manager in their absence and provides periodic assessment of technician performance.

  • Typical work may require strenuous physical exertion, such as climbing ladders, lifting objects weighing over 45lbs, moving machines and equipment using dollies or hand trucks, and crouching or crawling in restricted areas.
  • Must be willing to work irregular work schedule (nights/weekends/holidays).
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain/maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Routine physical examination required.
  • Position sometimes requires driving in adverse conditions, on and off military installations.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME. GOVERNMENT POSITIONS MUST INCLUDE PAY PLAN, SERIES, GRADE, TO AND FROM DATES, AND GOVERNMENT AGENCY/DEPARTMENT. All qualification requirements must include experience equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level.

Three years of specialized experience in electronic gaming machine and related equipment repair including installation, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and instructing on electronic equipment. Specialized experience includes employment as an electronic gaming machine technician at a casino, and electronic gaming machine manufacturer or in a gaming route operation. Specialized experience may also be attained through completion of a recognized gaming school or work in an industry-related field that requires knowledge of basic machine components, networking and video monitor repair.

OR:

Successful completion of (a) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar (b) 3 years of study in an accredited curriculum in electronics, or (c) a full 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester hours in any combination of engineering, physical science, technology or mathematics. At least 12 of the 24 semester hours must have been in electronics courses.

Must be proficient in IT components and Microsoft Word and Excel software.

This position may be authorized for the following entitlements:

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs to cover moving expenses is authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
  • Living Quarters Allowance (LQA), which is granted to an employee to help defray the annual cost of suitable, adequate living quarters for the employee and his/her family at a foreign post where government-leased or - owned housing is not provided. 
  • Post Allowance (PA) to compensate in part for the higher price of many goods and services in overseas areas.  It is based on the employee’s salary, work schedule, number of dependents, and the duty station location.  Changes in exchange rates also raise or lower the PA since exchange rates affect the cost of goods and services bought on the economy.
  • Foreign Transfer Allowance (FTA) to help cover miscellaneous moving expenses in the amount of $750 for a single person or $1,500 a family.
