Responsibilities 

Responsibilities:

• Intern will spend 3 weeks in each of these departments -Housekeeping, Front Desk, Food and Beverage and Culinary performing all tasks of each position and then spend time learning to lead in each department.•Intern will spend one week learning about admin functions at hotel including sales, reservations, accounting and Human Resources.•Intern will have a mentor assigned and will have meetings weekly to discuss progress in each role and review calendar and expectations.•Attend weekly Operations meetings with managers of the hotel.

Learning Objectives:

• Leadership of a team.
• Better understanding of Operations, scheduling, staffing, and teamwork.
• Intern will be able to function in hourly roles at a hotel as well as leading expectations set for by both Delaware North and Marriott using GuestPath as a guide to all interactions with our guests.
• Intern will be assigned a project and will provide a presentation to the managers at the end of the internship highlighting the project, it's challenges and successes.

Qualifications 

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply. 
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or Hospitality.
• Technical Skills: Microsoft Word, FOSSE preferred but not required.
• Other Skills or Experience: Prior hospitality experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements 

• Frequent walking and standing for the entire length of the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, carrying and climbing of stairs.
• Use of hands to operate cleaning equipment and complete scrubbing/washing duties. 
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. 
• Visual acuity is sufficient to inspect the cleanliness of rooms and surfaces. 
• Working conditions include being regularly exposed to fumes and toxic or caustic chemicals. 
• Occasionally works in outside weather conditions, and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. 
• Noise level may be moderate to loud.
