The Opportunity 

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a full-time Laundry Worker to join our team at Southland Casino in West Memphis, Arkansas. As a Laundry Worker, you will be responsible for operating large commercial washers and dryers according to safety standards and be engaged with collaborative team members around you.

Shifts available: 7am-3pm & 3pm-11pm

Responsibilities 

• Communicate with Executive Housekeeper or Housekeeping Supervisor regarding Housemen needs for linens for the floors and cottage 
• Operate and tend the machines including washing and drying articles, folding/ironing and shelving, terry, sheets, draperies, linens, ensuring the correct volume of detergent, water, bleach, starch, and other additives are used as needed and correct settings on the machines are used.
• Sort, count and put away articles removed from dryers, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the laundry closet shelves and linen storage rooms.
• Inspect soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and to identify items requiring special treatment with the correct stain spotters.
• Iron or press articles, sheets, pillowcases, bed scarfs/throws, fabrics, banquet linens, napkins, spa linen using hand irons or pressing machines
• Record all loads washed and dried to calculate productivity including loss of linens due to stains, tears and wear
• Maintain laundry equipment to ensure all is in working order, reporting deficiences.
• Maintain daily cleanliness of equipment, dryer vents and laundry area. 

Qualifications 

• Ability to work effectively with others in fast-paced environments, using effective communication skills with guests and team members
• Basic math skills
• Laundry worker experience in a hotel or other high-volume location is beneficial
• No experience or diploma required

Physical Requirements 

• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on weather and how many machines are in operation at any given time
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, and lifting during shifts
• Long term standing, bending, walking, and/or lifting, pushing, puling up to 70 pounds.
