Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians

Corning, CA

Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians is a federally-recognized sovereign nation located in Northern California with a deep tradition of resiliency, culture, and a strong vision for the future of all peoples living in the Corning-Paskenta Tribal Community.

Members of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians have lived in Northern California for generations, in what is now called Tehama and Glenn counties. Paskenta lands lie between Red Bluff, California, and Stoney Creek, California, west of the Sacramento River.

There were two major divisions of Nomlaki Indians in California: the Hill Nomlaki and the River Nomlaki. The Paskenta Band is Hill Nomlaki. The River Nomlaki occupied the territory east of the Hill Nomlaki in the Sacramento River Valley in present-day Tehama County.

Full tribal status enabled the Paskenta Band to embark on its mission to develop a strong, diverse economic base for its membership and surrounding communities. In 2000, the Tribe acquired a 2,000-acre reservation near Corning, California and soon began construction of Rolling Hills Casino, which opened in 2002, providing employment to several hundred local residents.

The  Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians Government offers attractive compensation packages, including competitive salaries, medical, dental and vision coverage, a generous 401(k) program, and other benefits. We provide a drug-free workplace and require pre-employment drug testing and background check clearance. We are an equal opportunity employer. Our diversified operations include these enterprises:

The Equestrian Center at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort
This world-class equestrian experience includes four arenas that host a range of rodeos and horse shows. It’s a comprehensive site with equine and livestock support, meeting spaces, and an onsite RV parking area.

The Links at Rolling Hills Casino and Resort
Our John Daly signature 18-hole golf course is one of the few true links-style courses in the western U.S. It includes an all-natural turf driving range and short game practice facility. Golf Week magazine named it the “best casino golf course” with a versatile design, moveable tees, and expansive beauty.

Paskenta Brewery & Distillery
Our state-of-the-art brewing and distilling capabilities at the Paskenta Brewery & Distillery are unmatched in Northern California. The master brewers and distillers handcraft our beers as well as vodka, gin, rums, and other signature liquors and spirits. We offer public tasting tours and private tours to explore our offerings and facility.

Rolling Hills Clinic
The Rolling Hills Clinic is a nonprofit, Tribal-owned community clinic that serves Tribal members and residents of surrounding communities with a Tribal-sponsored health insurance program. The health care team offers medical care, a range of specialty services, including mental health support, and dental care at two locations in Corning and Red Bluff.

Rolling Hills Casino and Resort
After the Tribe acquired an additional 2,000-acre reservation near Corning, we built the Rolling Hills Casino and Resort. The Casino features 800 slot machines and table games, such as Blackjack, Pai Gow Poker, and Three-Card Poker. Other resort amenities include three restaurants, two hotels, an RV park, and an Amphitheater with live events. Today, the casino and resort employ more than 600 people, most of whom work full time and receive both healthcare and 401K benefits. This enterprise is one of the top employers in Tehama County.
