SUMMARY

Directly responsible for establishing and carrying out policies and procedures required by the Tribal Gaming Agency, Red Earth Casino and the Security Department.

Responsible for the management and supervision of the Security Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct, monitor and administer Security Operations.
  • Ensures the facilities are safe from fire, theft, burglary, assault and other such causes.
  • Instruct and monitor personnel on adherence to Security policies and procedures.
  • Work in close contact with the Surveillance Manager to ensure protection of company funds and assets.
  • In coordination with Security Shift Supervisors oversees work schedules for Security Personnel.
  • Interview and hire for Security positions.
  • Conduct and review Security investigations concerning all incidents and issues taking place on Casino property.
  • Maintains DOJ and State Exclusion lists, ensures compliance.
  • Make necessary reports and notify the Tribal Gaming Agency and the local law enforcement agencies as needed.
  • Establishes operational procedures for activities such as fire prevention, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with classified information and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
  • Establishes, reviews, or facilitates policies and procedures regarding door access, safety and workers compensation injuries.
  • Formulates and discusses with management the need for new policies and programs for Security, Surveillance and the protection of funds.
  • Test and implement emergency procedures, evacuation plans, Security and safety of door access and other related assigned tasks.
  • Ensures cooperation and coordination of Security activities with local government, local law enforcement agencies, FBI and fire fighting agencies.
  • Must learn, comprehend and comply with all Company policies and procedures, MICS, Gaming Regulations and Title 31 requirements.
  • Manages a group of Security guards who ensure the protection of an organization's facilities. Leads and directs the work of Security personnel.
  • Develops and enforces Security procedures and regulations.
  • Acts as a liaison to all departments on Security measures, procedures, and needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise Security employees in the Casino. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the unit as well as other departments upon request.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

College degree preferred; HS Diploma/GED required. 3-5 years of Casino Security Supervisory experience, previous law enforcement and supervisory/management experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, client, customers and the public. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must be able to Obtain and Maintain Tribal Gaming License and State of Ca Tribal Key Employee License. Must have Guard Card or must obtain Guard Card within 60 days.
