Help lead property-wide casino and hotel operations by supporting the General Manager in achieving operational, financial, and guest service goals while ensuring regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and collaboration across all departments!

JOB PURPOSE

This position, under the direction of the General Manager, assists in all administrative functions and daily operations of the Casino and Hotel. Assists key gaming and executive-level personnel with day-to-day oversight of all Casino operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with State, Tribal, and Federal regulations and laws as well as MICS, TICS, and gaming regulations.
  • Assumes responsibility for business operations, profits and losses of all departments, including but not limited to Casino Operations, Security, Food and Beverage, Hotel, Facilities, HR, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Retail (if applicable) in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensures all business goals are met, and integrity of all Tribal Gaming Operations is maintained.
  • Assist the General Manager in directing operations to achieve budgeted profit results and other financial criteria and to preserve the capital funds invested in the Enterprise.
  • Establish policies to ensure adequate management development and to provide for capital management succession, recommended changes in the structure of the organization as required by the development and growth of the organization.
  • Must have significant, demonstrated leadership ability, organizational and strategic agility as well as the ability to build and motivate teams.
  • Champion a guest-first culture across all departments, setting the standard for exceptional hospitality.
  • Responsible for all internal controls and procedures to ensure protection of company assets and enforcement of Casino policies and procedures.
  • Actively maximizes gross gaming revenue using exceptional leadership ability, while assuring fair and equitable application of policies and procedures.
  • Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Initiates and maintains communication with subordinates, employees, management, and other departments in facilitating the flow of information throughout the property.
  • Deals tactfully with guests when handling unexpected situations, finding solutions that ensure customer satisfaction with minimal financial impact on Casino operations.
  • May be required to perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or other related programs required.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of managerial or operations experience within the Casino/Hospitality industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a management role.
  • Familiarity with casino management systems, PMS platforms, and F&B POS systems preferred. Specific systems to include: Aristocrat Oasis and Agilysys.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to build and maintain business and organizational relationships are essential.
  • Must have the ability to analyze, interpret, and make operational, financial, and budgetary decisions based on financial reports to drive the organization to meet and exceed business goals.
  • Knowledge of complex laws, regulations, and guidelines governing casino and hotel operations, Tribal Law, and Federal and State regulations.
  • Maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to work in areas containing high noise levels and secondhand smoke.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

  • Speak and communicate effectively with individuals and before groups of people.
  • Ability to verbally communicate using appropriate English standards of language; bilingual proficiency is strongly preferred.

LICENSING

  • Must be able to qualify for any and all licenses or permits required by local, State, Federal and/or Wyandotte Nation law.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 50lbs in emergency situations.
  • Ability to function in a smoking environment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise levels in the work environment are constant.
  • Ascend/descend flights of stairs to access office and break areas throughout work day.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for entirety of shift as required to conduct normal assigned duties.
  • Efficiently function in an environment with blinking/blinding lights.
