Description

The Engagement and Development Manager leads organizational efforts related to team member engagement, learning, and development. This role is responsible for designing and implementing strategies that enhance team member performance, strengthen organizational culture, and support retention. The position aligns training, engagement, and development initiatives with company-wide strategic goals.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Learning & Development

  • Leads organizational learning strategy, including needs assessments, program design, and evaluation 
  • Develops leadership development and performance improvement programs 
  • Oversees training delivery methods (in-person, digital, blended learning)
  • Oversees the development and curation of training content across multiple delivery methods 
  • Leads planning and execution of training and engagement initiatives, ensuring effective delivery and resource alignment

Engagement & Culture

  • Designs and implements employee engagement and recognition programs 
  • Leads engagement survey initiatives (e.g., Q12), including analysis and action planning 
  • Partners with leadership to strengthen organizational culture and retention 

Onboarding & Experience

  • Oversees onboarding framework and new hire experience 
  • Implements feedback loops and follow-up processes 

Coaching & Leadership Support

  • Provides coaching and guidance to leaders to improve performance and engagement 
  • Partners with departments to address engagement and service gaps

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ensures alignment with organizational values, mission, and service standards 
  • Stays current on industry trends and best practices 
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, including executive-level delivery 
  • Knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles 
  • Data analysis and program evaluation 
  • Change management and organizational development 
  • Stakeholder management and influence across all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to design, implement, and evaluate effective learning and engagement programs 
  • Proficiency with learning technologies and multimedia training platforms
Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides leadership, direction, and performance management to the Training & Development Specialist.

Requirements

Education And/Or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on Human Resources, Organizational Learning and Development, Adult Education, or closely related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience required. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience delivering in-person training to large, diverse groups required. 
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and the ability to evaluate the cost and effectiveness of training programs. 
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design, adult learning, instructional delivery, and evaluation of training effectiveness. 
  • Experience with behavioral and leadership assessment tools (e.g., DiSC, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), CliftonStrengths) preferred. 
  • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) preferred. 
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred. 
  • Gaming industry experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Class III gaming license issued from the Washington State Gaming Commission
