SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, and continuous operation of all computer hardware and software utilized by the casino complex, including the administrative and accounting offices, casino, restaurant, bar and complete network.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Includes the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Ensures that the computer hardware and software programs meet the needs of each department.
  • Inspects and tests hardware and software prior to utilization.
  • Performs periodic preventative maintenance on computer hardware.
  • Provides proper training to all computer users.
  • Establishes network and system policies.
  • Establishes and monitors network and system security
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional IT Director.
  • Responsible for database maintenance and disaster recovery.
  • Ensures the security of the internal network through intrusion diction software and implementation of firewalls
  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of the organization and adheres to all organizational standards.
  • Ensures compliance with all software licensing agreements. Manages and safeguards software media and associated licenses.
  • Utilizes the Requirements Log System to identify and timely complete technology requirements.
  • Develops and manages technology budget and monitors and approves related expenditures. Reviews and approves cost pool expenditures.
  • Assists in other duties as needed and directed Develops and maintains technology policies, standards and procedures manual; develops and maintains related technology checklists.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages 3 system analysts in the IT department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; performs performance appraisals; rewards and disciplines employees; resolves problems, and addresses complaints.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

4-year college or university program certificate; or minimum of three years’ experience in networking. WAN, Firewalls, VPN, DHCP, WINS, DNS, TC/IP and Microsoft Windows OS with Active Directory, casinoplayer tracking systems and point of sale systems a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Colorado Support Gaming License.

Should be able to adapt well to the casino environment involving large numbers of people, and to loud and continuous noise levels. Must also be able to handle the concept of persons occupying an establishment for the purpose of gambling, drinking, eating, and smoking for long periods of time.
