Summary

A Security Training Officer (STO) will safeguard all employees, Guests, and company property by standing a vigilant guard over their designated area as a regular Security Officer, however they will take on the responsibility of trainers and the additional role of the Shift Supervisor in their absence. STO’s will conduct investigations occurring property-wide, make decisions including 86’d individuals and those that have committed crimes (in the absence of the Supervisor); and will also be responsible to assist new hire trainees. STOs will patrol hotel and casino premises to maintain order, enforce regulations, and ensure observance of applicable laws by performing the following duties but not limited to:

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Monitor the Early Alert System (EAS) fire alarms. Dispatch Security Officers to assignments as needed.

Enforce company policies and outlined procedures.

Conduct preliminary investigations and take appropriate reports of incidents.

Provide assistance when rendered and exchange information with Guests and employees.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Security Supervisor and/or Management.

Handle money transactions between the Casino Cage and Table Games in compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.

Distribute gaming table cash boxes and handles box pulls for count team.

Provide escorts for slot drop, stand-bys, etc. (as needed or requested).

Patrol lobbies, corridors, and public areas and rest rooms and confer with Management regularly.

Will interview Guests and employees, to detect infringements, investigate disturbances, complaints, thefts, vandalism, and accidents.

Patrol public areas to detect fires, unsafe conditions, and missing or inoperative safety equipment.

Warn or eject troublemakers, and caution careless persons.

Notify staff of the presence of persons with questionable reputations or suspicious activity.

Assist management and emergency personnel in emergency situations.

Be responsible for the movement of company assets. (currency, coin, gaming chips etc.)

Take charge of incidents that occur on property when a Security Supervisor is unavailable.

Keep incidents contained and do not allow situations to expand beyond our control, being proactive.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Be responsible for Security Officers on a designated shift, in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.

Directly supervise 6 to 10 Security Officers. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Bally’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Some responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints. Additional responsibilities may be added due to demands of the business.

Qualifications

Education And/Or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-years experience with Bally’s Security Department and/or Security Supervisor recommendation and/or Six months or more of relevant security experience or equivalent.

A Military and/or Law Enforcement background is a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess and be able to maintain the applicable regional Gaming card(s) and/or all required License(s).

Language Skills

Must effectively communicate in English. Must be able to read and write simple lists, interoffice memorandums, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate verbally, present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Guests, clients, business partners of the resort.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Computer Skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Must remain flexible and willing to accept change.
