SUMMARY

The Finance Manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the casino resort accounting activities. Assist with the set up and standardization of internal casino accounting processes to include general ledger functions, bank and G/L account reconciliations, financial reporting, and period close. This position oversees and monitors performance and activities for Accounting, Soft Count/Drop, Payroll and Receiving, or additional functions while also analyzing and reporting on results of Casino business activities. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the organization's policies and procedures, tribal regulations, and all federal/state laws, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All Team Members must embrace and deliver Kiowa's Guest Service Standards to every Guest on every shift, as outlined in Orientation, the Team Member Handbook, SOP's, and any other related training.
  • Ensure an exceptional level of service and satisfaction is achieved throughout the properties, exceeding the expectations of external and internal Guests alike in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assure accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with the company's accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices, and that subordinate ledgers reconcile with the general ledger.
  • Prescribe methods of providing accounting data for various reports and statements where the need does not follow the normal content of accounts.
  • Direct maintenance of fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts; provide interpretive assistance as to the proper capitalization/expensing of outlays and grouping of fixed assets by class, as well as depreciation methodology.
  • Develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data.
  • Direct centralized payroll, ensuring accurate, and timely payroll dissemination and reporting.
  • Direct centralized accounts payable function, ensuring accurate payment of accounts according to established Accounts Payable {AP) timelines.
  • Review detailed subsidiary ledgers to ensure general ledger accuracy.
  • Process all payroll related taxes, fees or other charges to a Federal or State Governmental Agency, including but not limited to 941, WTH-10001,, Oklahoma Employment Security Commission {OESC), and.
  • Prepare and approve recurring monthly journal entries.
  • Prepare and transmit year end reports to governmental agencies, including but not limited to 1099's, W-2's, 1095's and W-2g's..
  • Direct the activities of the payroll, receiving, soft count/drop departments to ensure compliance of all company and departmental procedures and internal controls.
  • Interact with all department managers regarding monthly financial statements and coordinates variance explanations.
  • Responsible for hiring, retaining, promoting, performance evaluations, training, disciplining, and terminating team member with concurrence of the Chief Financial Officer {CFO), Chief Operating Officer/General Manager

{COO/GM) and the Director of Human Resources.

  • Develop and recommend changes for Finance internal controls.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, departmental, and casino policies and procedures, and to the casino Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS).
  • Perform additional duties or projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5 years Accounting experience, including supervisory experience in the following functional areas: Payroll, A/P, General Ledger, Receiving, Revenue Audit, and Soft Count/Drop function is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience with accounting software, such as MAS90, Peachtree, lnfinium preferred.
  • 2 years' experience within gaming multi-property or multi-divisions preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • CPA preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position supervises Finance department staff.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming License is required.
  • Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
  • Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug test.

Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color, and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.

Environment includes exposure to second-hand smoke, high noise level, bright lights, and sometimes fluctuating temperatures or weather conditions. Must be able to work irregular or additional hours or shifts, including holidays or weekends, as assigned, in order to meet business needs.
