The Opportunity 

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring a Buyer to join our team at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the buying of retail merchandise and apparel for Little Caesars Arena.

Located in Midtown Detroit, Little Caesars Arena is the home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons in addition to numerous concerts and events. Built in 2017, this state of the art arena has capacity for up to 22,000 seats, offering a variety of restaurants and retail outlets offering a one of a kind opportunity to its guests.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Salary: $46600 - $61800 / year

Responsibilities 

• Procuring goods and services for the operation of the facility.
• Product selection and development from inception to delivery, recommending purchases and inventory levels based on consumer and market trends, sales strategies and financial goals.
• Utilizes reporting tools to review inventory, sales, and status of each item in assigned merchandise categories.
• Creates purchase orders taking into consideration the need to control the inventory investment while maintaining sufficient inventory to support the sales objectives.
• Recommends pricing, sales strategies, and assortments to be reviewed.
• Recommends liquidation strategies as needed.
• Development of promotional activities for key product collections and communicate with Retail Director and team to ensure sale through.
• Involvement in client relations and vendor meetings.
• Collaborate with entire retail team on product ideas and development.
• Inventory management and allocation process.

Qualifications 

• 2-3 years retail operations experience required. Sports and entertainment experience is highly preferred.
• 2-3 years as a merchandise buyer with product development experience. Sports and entertainment experience is highly preferred. 
• Prior supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to train and develop a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements 

• Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
• Frequent standing, bending, lifting, walking.
