BASIC PURPOSE:

This position is assigned responsibilities involving the overall installation, configuration, and maintenance of all computer systems and network devices on the property. Responsible for the operation, support, and monitoring of high to low-end systems as well as network infrastructure. Manage the planning, configuration, and deployment of all systems upgrades for servers and network appliances. Maintains and implements network devices, servers, databases, access systems, system parameters or other file configurations as required. As well work to support the overall technical operation of the department with adherence to IT Policy & Procedures, NIGC MICS, and TMCGRC compliance.

Works to build and maintain crucial infrastructure components. Supported systems include: Cisco Systems, ADP Payroll, SAGE Accounting, Microsoft Exchange 2003, and Microsoft Windows 2003 Server including Active Directory, IBM AIX, and Veritas Backup.

TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide system support to end users with adherence to IT Policy & Procedures, NIGC MICS, and SFPGRC compliance.
  • Responsible for the operation and monitoring of the slot & player gaming systems including modification of usernames and passwords; with the removal of usernames and passwords.
  • Supports work flow, to ensure effective overall operations in the IT Department.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with applications, workstations, servers, and, network components.
  • Routinely inspects all supported equipment, identifying potential problems and repairing same, as needed.
  • Participate in testing and implementing new applications and software.
  • Installs selected hardware and software, maintaining proper security levels and access rights to all systems.
  • Ensures the quality of systems operations in all areas of the company, by communicating with all levels of systems users and offering direction and assistance, as needed.
  • Consults with system users on specific project requirements, designating priority and scheduling project.
  • Facilitates the flow of information throughout the IT Department, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all appropriate software and network applications.
  • Programs, and writes procedures, to assist in the day-to-day functioning of the Network.
  • Prepare letters, memorandums and reports.
  • Facilitates the management of Help Desk telephone calls and IT requests.
  • Contacts Vendors with regard to specific software, hardware or network problems, as needed or as requested by Management
  • Maintains a consistent and regular attendance record.
  • Provides proper guidance and training to staff to ensure proper management of systems.
  • Responsible for the execution of IT requests, system problems, and system projects delegated by IT Management.
  • Reports and informs Management of status regarding IT requests, systems projects, daily operations, and systems problems.
  • Provides network configuration for users and services.
  • Ensures the quality of systems operations in all areas of the company, by communicating with all levels of systems users and offering direction and assistance, as needed.
  • Reviews all systems specifications and makes recommendations for the purchase of hardware and software.
  • Monitors dated equipment and keeps all equipment up to date, as well as recommending the purchase of new products when equipment becomes too outdated.
  • Monitors all systems for licensure renewal and application.
  • Maintains network and equipment for Hail Creek Travel Center (another tribal entity).
  • Administers training courses to staff on the implementation and de-bugging of computer systems.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with Casino Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all training as assigned by your supervisor or the Human Resources Department.
  • Maintain professional hygiene and appearance.
  • Must be proficient in reading, understanding and speaking the English Language.
  • Any other duties as set forth by department or casino management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred AND 2 year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience must include maintaining network operations, including bandwidth and server performance, for an organization of more than 25 users.
  • Experience maintaining Network equipment, including security, is required; or current Network certification.
  • Experience with POS is required; or current POS certification
  • Experience with a Gaming Systems is required; or current Gaming System certification.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, maintaining, and upgrading Microsoft Server systems; including MS SQL Server, MS Exchange Server, MS 2003 Server including Active Directory; or current MCSE/MCSA certification.
  • Extended working hours, including weekends, may be required.
  • Must possess Class III Gaming License.
  • Must possess effective communication skills, and be computer-literate, with superior programming and usage skills. Network security experience is highly desired.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasonable demonstration of basic computer mathematics; including binary and hexadecimal familiarity.
