Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Maintain continuous surveillance of the pool, call out warnings to people who may be exhibiting unsafe behavior or may be in imminent danger.
  • Spot hazards and maintain all safety protocols as required by Tropicana Las Vegas and the SNHD.
  • Perform water rescues in the event of drowning and perform first aid and CPR as necessary.
  • Pick up dirty towels and maintain a clean and organized pool during operations and after closing.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
Qualification Requirements

  • Must obtain a Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving Certificate.
  • Must be able to endure extreme weather conditions, especially extreme heat for the duration of the shift.
  • Must be able read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must have excellent communication and guest service and interaction skills.
  • Exceptional customer service focus including attention to producing quality results.
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents In English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

The Tropicana Las Vegas is a casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip on the corner of Tropican Avenue and Las Vegas Blvd, NV. 

It is owned and operated by Bally's Corporation, on land leased from Gaming and Leisure Properties. It offers 1,470 rooms, a 50,000-square-foot  gaming floor with over 600 slots and 30 table games, as well as a sports book.
