The Yield Manager oversees hotel inventory using data driven analyses while leading marketing initiatives to maximize hotel revenue through room rate strategies, complimentary offer and discount offer campaigns.


The following is a list of the main duties and responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management. All duties must be performed in accordance with Tribal, Federal, and other applicable requirements, organizational specific policies, procedures and practices.

- Manages player criteria selection for all gaming hotel offers and ensures offers are responded to in the most effective financial order.

- Actively monitors and adjusts room rates based on occupancy and business needs.

- Prepares accurate and informative reports including insights and recommendations for optimal room rates, improving marketing offers, and meeting occupancy targets.

- Oversees the revenue management system and online booking engine while ensuring maximum profitability and the effectiveness of the booking engine while striving for the best guest experience. 

- Is the lead troubleshooter and partners with company IT and external partner during outages to ensure systems are back in operation and functioning appropriately.

- Develops marketing programs and campaigns to drive additional revenue and increase occupancy levels during lower booking times, these include digital marketing campaigns, special room rate offers, corporate rate agreements, and hotel stay packages.

- Actively manages hotel room inventory at peak times to ensure appropriate yielding and profitability.

- Effectively uses budgeting, forecasting, and detailed analysis to maximize the yield of all hotel rooms and hotel amenities.

- Coordinates with the Hotel, Hosts, Direct Mail, Entertainment, Food & Beverage and Hotel Sales departments to forecast and establish group block requirements and room rate codes.

- Works with Host Department in VIP yielding and in controlling suite assignments.

- Works with community partners regarding annual room rate agreements and manages the booking process with those partners.

- Oversees the yielding of the Event Center and meeting space to determine hotel room usage and profitability associated with said events.  

- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality.

- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record as outlined in the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Attendance Policy.

The requirements listed below are generally representative of the education, experience, and skills and/or abilities required to enable one to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Marketing.  Two years of data base or hotel systems experience in the gaming industry.  Must possess a working knowledge of advanced marketing principles and hotel booking software.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.  Must be computer literate, with basic word processing and spreadsheet skills.  Basic accounting knowledge. 


Master’s degree with three years related experience and/or training. Four years related experience in the gaming industry with two of those years’ being in hotel operations within a casino environment.  Demonstrated expertise with Opera hotel booking software and online booking programs. 

Successful completion of any of the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Track Training programs.


Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimal, and work with mathematics such as probability and statistical inference.


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
