Job Description

The Maintenance Manager coordinates and directa the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement: “We are here for the guest. Period.”
  • Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees in the maintenance department.
  • Coordinate work performed by outside vendors.
  • Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair.
  • Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment.
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Find ways to reduce operating costs and conserve energy.
  • Act fast to resolve emergency issues (e.g., power outages floods)
  • Inspect plant and evaluates use of space and facilities.
  • Analyze firm's HVAC systems, computer network wiring, lighting, and other factors.
  • Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
  • Perform audits to support facility planning.
  • Develop long range plans, conceptual designs, and capital outlay requirements and documentation for facility.
  • Formulate and coordinate program specifications, requirements for proposals and contracts, and associated documents.
  • Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
  • Oversee and direct maintenance personnel and workers engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS)
  • Present a positive image of the Tribe to its guests, vendors, and employees and to assist them as required.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manage employees in Landscape, General Maintenance, and Labor.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.   Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred
  • Or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification, Licenses and Additional Requirements

  • Must pass pre-employment and periodic random drug screens
  • Must pass pre-placement physical
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment

  • Some enterprises are open 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week; therefore, you must be flexible to work any and all hours.
  • Some enterprises are gaming facilities.
  • Some enterprises are not a smoke-free environment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Be aware that surveillance cameras and audio equipment monitor the premises recording activity throughout the facility on a 24-hour, 7 – day per week basis.
