Job Description

Summary:
Provides training and direct supervision of all cash operations Supervisors, Senior Cashiers, Main Bankers and Cashiers. Ensures security of company funds; Issues and receives cage/pit markers, sets up credit and check cashing accounts, issues cashier banks, investigates cashier and main bank variances, ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, assist in revisions, implementing and writing departmental P&P’s.  Enforce gaming regulations, and Tribal Internal Controls.  Maintain MTL, MIL, CTR and SARC documents and knowledge of Title 31. Great organizational and time management skills. Meticulous attention to detail. Conducts direct training and retraining to cage employees within an assigned cage facility. Ensures assigned staff is in correct performance of their duties. Assist in maintaining Casino Patron Credit files. Ability to work in a smoke-filled environment throughout the entire shift.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Assist Director of Cage Operations to develop and organize department orientation and training program for new hires, cashiers, main bankers, supervisors and provide continuous departmental education on a scheduled basis.
•    Demonstrate confidence in influencing and explains things well to compel others.
•    A role model for continuous learning and development.
•    Train and retrain staff in accordance with Tribal Internal Controls for all cash handling areas.
•    Assess departmental training needs and assist to develop training material and keep training manual up to date
•    Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to promote positive and professional image, write reports and correspondence, address disciplinary and counseling matters, and safety matters.
•    Develop cohesive relationship with related departments to formulate optimum training program.
•    Monitor the overall day-to-day training programs within the department
•    Monthly report of the training progress
•    Investigates overages and shortages, document and issue disciplinary action in accordance with policy.
•    Effectively communicate with team members and management.
•    Ensures appropriate communication of such to the Dir. Of Cage Operations and other departmental leaders.
•    Provides proper security, accountability, and control of all company assets (i.e., keys, currency, company funds) within an assigned cage facility. 
•    Assist in development & implementation of department standards.
•    Detailed oriented, positive work ethics, excellent customer service skills, able to meet deadlines in a timely manner, dependable, flexible schedule.
•    Directs the operation of the cage facility to be in accordance with established policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.
•    Maintains excellent grooming and personal conduct according to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Standards.
•    Uses the most appropriate method, language and style of communication for the situation and the people involved. 
•    Must be self directed, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative on a daily basis.
•    Performance management based on the established company or departmental standards to include recognition for exceeding standards, reinforcement for meeting standards, corrective feedback, and progressive discipline. 
•    Directly supervises Supervisor in the Cash Operations Department.  
•    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
•    Address complaints, resolve problems, maintain individual employee files, track record, research/locate employee variance, control overtime, attend training classes. appraising performance; reward and discipline employees.

Requirements

GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Education/Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience or combination of casino experience required.
  • Proficiency in Title 31 and any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Minimum 5 years casino experience in a Cash Operations Department, supervisory and/or management experience required. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.  Required to submit to and obtain negative result on all drug and/or alcohol testing.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 


Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.  There is continuous exposure to second hand smoke.
