Job Description

Under the general direction of the VP, Accounting, the Sr. Manager, Drop and Count executes on the department’s strategic objectives and is responsible for the overall leadership of the drop and count teams responsible for the collection and reconciliation of currency throughout the property. The Senior Manager is a hands on leader responsible for investigating and documenting count variances and regulatory violations, and leading the activities of the teams in order to build efficiencies in regards to process requirements and initiatives. The Senior Manager is accountable for ensuring all policy and procedures are accurately followed while ensuring compliance with the Tribal Internal Controls Standards (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR).


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Responsible for accurate reconciliation, and ensures departmental compliance on all Tribal Internal Controls Standards (TICS), Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), policies, and procedures.

2. Manages workflows to enhance the overall function of the team. Investigates and documents discrepancies according to reporting requirements.

3. Establishes the operational and service expectations for the count and drop teams, and implements efficient and practical solutions to increase the day-to-day operational productivity of the teams.

4. Analyzes and interprets trends associated with count room operations and implements solutions to optimize operating costs.

5. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.   Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.




  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years direct management experience.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience working in a high volume count room or gaming operations.
  • Experience with heavy cash handling, various forms of cash transactions, and operation of counting equipment.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements that pertain to the drop and count process.
  • Ability to effectively lead teams during times of high volume.
  • Leads by example and fosters a positive team dynamic.
  • Builds collegial and collaborative relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
  • Is able to see and articulate big picture thinking that connects the teams contribution to the Tribes and the propertys overall success.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Must maintain high confidentiality.


  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • Must obtain and maintain a State Key Gaming License.
