Type of Position:
Responsible for coordinating and administering the purchasing procedures for the resort in accordance with Sandia Resort Procurement procedures and regulations of the Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission. Oversees the Shipping & Receiving Department.
Reports to the Director of Finance.
Supervises the Purchasing Agents, Shipping & Receiving Supervisor and Uniform Supervisor.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates and supervises the department’s primary function to service all specified departments by buying, expediting, inventorying, receiving and delivering the supplies and services necessary for the proper operations of the resort.
Oversees the inventory control and distribution process for Shipping & Receiving, Mailroom, and Uniform Room.
Recommends and develops policies and procedures within the limits of authority.
Prepares and monitors contracts, outlining performance standards and terms and conditions. Coordinates appropriate legal reviews and secures signatures within authority limits.
Maintains a centralized contract management system.
Ensure compliance with department standard operating procedures, internal controls, and Gaming Commission requirements.
Prepares complex requests for bids and proposals, issues formal solicitations, and analyzes vendor responses.
Confers with department representatives to determine specific procurement needs.
Performs additional duties as necessary.

Ability to evaluate procurement bids in accordance with established criteria.
Ability to prepare bids, requests for quotes, and proposals in compliance with Pueblo of Sandia / Sandia Resort business policies.
Records maintenance skills.
Ability to complete moderately complex administrative paperwork.
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
Ability to supervise, coordinate, direct and assign work.
Ability to work odd and unusual hours, including weekends.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and five (5) years’ experience in purchasing or related field, to include three (3) years management experience with complex contracts, bids, proposals and evaluation processes as well as supply chain processes including procurement, distribution and inventory control. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation may substitute for the required education and experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
- Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Salary: $72,874-$97,652 annual

The Sandia Resort and Casino is situated on the Northeast corner of Interstate 25 and Tramway Road in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Since it first opened in 1994, The Sandia Resort and Casino has undergone extensive developments to its property to provide a truly all-inclusive and luxurious experience for visitors.

In 2021, Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico, expanded its high limit gaming area; added a new Governor's Room, and a state-of-the-art sports bar with Class II gaming and a full menu. It features numerous big-screen TVs and an outside wrap-around deck with views of the Sandia Mountains and the city. The newly constructed entertainment space is about 50,000 square feet.
Sandia also added the Bien Shur Rooftop Restaurant & Lounge and renovated the hotel.
