Working and living in the Tri-States Region
The Tri-States Region encompasses communities and rural areas in all three states – Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri – with Joplin, Mo., (pop. 49,000, MSA pop. 166,000) being the closest major town, about seven miles from our resort location. The nearest gaming centers are a cluster of small casinos 17 miles southwest at Miami, Okla.
Joplin is a growing family-friendly community with thriving schools and two excellent hospitals, a low cost-of-living index (12% below national average), and an offering of cultural, dining and entertainment choices that would be typical of a much larger city. In short, it is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
Interstate 44 connects Joplin with the Branson/Springfield area and St. Louis to the east, and with Tulsa and Oklahoma City to the west. U.S. Route 71 runs North-South, connecting Joplin to Kansas City on the north and booming Northwest Arkansas to the south.
Joplin Regional Airport serves the region with Air Midwest service to Kansas City International Airport, and with U.S. Airways Express service to Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport.
