Job Description
SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring all operations of the Beverage Department and employee performances are in compliance with mission, objectives, and gaming regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
 
* Enforces performance standards policies and procedures as they relate to the beverage department, monitors beverage service on casino floor. Ensures smooth and efficient operations on a continual basis.
* Calibrates automatic beverage systems. Contacts vendors as required for maintenance and repairs.
* Ensures that the highest possible standards of guest services and employee relations are maintained and carried out in a fair and equitable manner.
* Completes all administrative reports, schedules, forms, departmental programs within time frames and guidelines set forth.
* Complies with all beverage, health, liquor and safety regulations, as well as all applicable beverage, federal, states local laws.
* Assists Shift Managers with scheduling of employees and ensuring correct staffing levels and adjustments are made in accordance with guest needs.
* Monitors job performances of all beverage employees and provides feedback on same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.
* Monitors guest alcohol consumption and responds accordingly.
* Maintains a strong physical presence on the floor.
* Provides input to Vice President of Food & Beverage and/or Director of Food & Beverage Operations concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
* Reviews financial statements, forecasts revenue and labor figures for beverage department, maintain proper inventory control.
* Reviews and approves all recommendation and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all beverage employees in a fair and equitable manner.
* Maximizes cost effectiveness within the beverage department by ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.
* Listens to, evaluates and assures control of guest grievances and settles the same without delay.
* Has knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.) and attendant regulations, as well as internal controls, policies and procedures.
* Promotes departmental and property wide promotions on a continual basis.
* Works with Finance and IT teams to ensure that all revenue is captured and reported in an accurate and timely manner.
* Schedules and attends departmental meetings.
* Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Directly supervises Beverage Shift Supervisors; indirectly supervises all other Beverage employees.
Requirements

GAMING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in related field and three to four years beverage manager experience preferred. Two to three years gaming supervisory experience preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate licenses, as required. ServSafe® certification, or ability to become certified, required. Knowledge of HACCP standards required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required. Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems. Certified Mixologist and/or Junior Sommelier preferred. Extensive knowledge of wines and mixology. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, leadership, communication, team building, and problem solving skills are required.
 
This position requires a Level 2 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write effective letters, memos, speeches. and articles for publication. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from staff members at all levels, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings. Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
