About the University

The University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) is a premier metropolitan research university. Its 332-acre main campus, located on the Southern tip of Nevada in a desert valley surrounded by mountains.  It offers  80 majors and 43 minors and has more than 125 graduate degree programs and its own law, medicine, and dental medicine schools.

UNLV has created one of the most affirmative and dynamic academic environments in the country and continues to rise in U.S. News & World Report’s annual listing of the nation’s most diverse universities for undergraduates. It has placed in the top 10 for the past six years.

In 2020 UNLV had 25,869 undergraduate students, 4,261 graduate students and 1,043 professional students. It is comprised of 64.9% minorities and over 240 undergraduate and graduate majors degree and certificate programs. The University of Nevada Las Vegas is home to 99 cultural, ethnic, and religious-based student organizations.
