Company Information

Wind Creek Casino & Hotel
303 Poarch Road
Atmore, AL  36502

The
Poarch Band of Creek Indians are constructing a new casino and hotel behind the Creek Entertainment Center in Atmore, Alabama, about 50 miles northwest of Pensacola. When finished in 2009, the old building will be dismantled.

The
Wind Creek Casino & Hotel will be a $250 million, 16-story bingo palace. Steel girders of the new building can already be seen rising three stories high.

The exterior features stone and copper finishes that impart Indian motifs, while the interior shows the flash and glitz of Las Vegas.

The 80,000-square-foot gaming room will hold 1,600 electronic bingo machines that operate, sound and look remarkably like slot machines.

A steak restaurant, a 24-hour cafe and large buffet eatery lie just off the main floor, as do a coffee bar, several cocktail bars and performance stages.

The new Atmore casino which was developed on a 35-acre site has just opened, including the 236-room hotel. Come see them today!!

Now that Phase I is open, Phase II will start with a 5-acre lake and pool replacing the present Poarch Creek Entertainment Center by next summer. A golf course will follow and an amphitheater with seating for 2,000 is planned at the water’s edge.

The
Poarch Band of Creek Indians are descendents of a segment of the original Creek Nation, which once covered almost all of Alabama and Georgia. Unlike many southeastern Indian tribes, the Poarch Creeks were not removed from their tribal lands, and have lived together for over 150 years near Atmore, Alabama.

In the early 1980’s, the Poarch Creeks petitioned the United States government to recognize a government-to-government relationship. Their request was finally answered on August 11, 1984, when they became the only federally recognized tribe in the state of Alabama.

Federal recognition allows the tribe to operate as a sovereign nation with its own system of government and bylaws.

The Poarch Creeks created the PCI Gaming Authority to serve as the principle gaming and hospitality entity for the Tribe. It was developed to generate a sustainable revenue stream to support Governmental services that contribute to the health and well-being of the Tribe. A five-member Board of Directors oversees the PCI Gaming Authority and reports directly to the nine-member Tribal Council.

April 13, 1985, the Poarch Band of Creek Indians opened a 1,500 seat high-stakes bingo hall in rural Escambia County, Alabama. Creek Bingo Palace immediately created 130 jobs in the small town of Atmore. It also set the Poarch Band on a path of improved social and economic conditions and self-sufficiency.

In the first two decades of Poarch Creek gaming, nearly 700 jobs were created; 90 percent of the positions are currently filled by non-Indians. If jobs sustained indirectly by gaming are figured into the count, the employment number rises to over 2,800.

The original Bingo Palace in Atmore has become the Creek Casino, and two other gaming properties have opened: Tallapoosa Casino in Montgomery and Riverside Casino in Wetumpka. These three properties operate over 2,000 Class II electronic bingo games 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2006, an expansion of the Creek Casino produced another 50 jobs.

In 2005 alone, these three properties combined generated more than $25 million in federal income and payroll taxes, nearly $6 million in taxes went to the state of Alabama, and Tribal government and enterprises spent almost $50 million on goods and services. Gaming has been an economic success, not just for Poarch Band members, but for neighboring communities and the state of Alabama.

A second phase of construction in Atmore, which includes plans for a new casino and hotel, is scheduled to open in 2009 and will create a destination resort — Wind Creek Casino and Hotel. The new Wind Creek Casino is a massive 225,000 square foot facility, with 57,000 square feet of gaming floor and 1,600 electronic gaming machines. The resort features beautiful high ceilings in a spacious oval setting, and comes complete with a stylish “Center Bar” which offers an entertainment lounge and the best in beverage service. The 160,000 square foot, 17-story, 236 room luxury hotel will offer the finest in resort amenities, with spacious rooms and 24-hour-a-day room service. Get ready to be pampered by our staff and be sure to visit our lake-side Spa and one of our gift shops or boutiques.

Wind Creek Casino and Hotel will also generate over 700 jobs. The positive economic impact experienced by the city of Atmore from the resulting increase in visitors and demand for goods and services from local businesses is expected to be substantial.

Summing up the impact gaming has had for the Poarch Band, current Tribal Chairman Buford L. Rolin states, “It has provided our rural community with jobs — both for our Tribal members and for our neighbors. It has allowed us to add to our community’s tax base, and it has provided us opportunities to educate our children, build housing and medical clinics, and improve the lives of our elderly. Our gaming business has also provided us with capital that we have used to start other businesses.”

At PCI Gaming, we believe that enthusiastic commitment to purpose inspires and empowers team members to provide unmatched service to our guests. Fun is not just for the guests – it is a part of our corporate philosophy! We care about our employees and strive to offer them a fun, exciting working environment. We also believe that hard work and integrity should be rewarded. That is why our employees receive great benefits such as PTO, Bonus Program, Blue Cross Health and Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401k, and Employee of the Quarter.

If you are a friendly outgoing individual who enjoys a fun atmosphere, excels in a team environment and has a first-rate customer service attitude you are encouraged to review our current opportunities and apply to become a part of the excitement!
