SugarHouse Casino is a proposed $550 million casino and entertainment project along the Delaware River waterfront. The casino will open in phases, initially employing 600 employees with an opening date anticipated to occur in the second quarter of 2009.  Approximately nine months later, the facility will hire an additional 500 employees to complete the 1.3 million square foot casino complex with a state-of-the-art casino floor with 3,000 slot machines, a wide variety of bars of restaurants, and customer parking for 3,000 cars. Future plans call for the construction of a 500-room hotel tower, expanded gaming and dining facilities, a 25,000 square foot multipurpose event center, a health spa and additional garage parking.
